The upcoming spy action/comedy is being directed by Matthew Vaughn. Taron Egerton will return as the film’s protagonist as  Gary “Eggsy” Unwin. Mark Strong will return as his role as Merlin.

Millar suggested that Colin Firth’s Harry Hart might return in some form earlier on during the sequel’s development.

The plot details were revealed in Empire Magazine and the details can be seen here at CBM, with concept art and story details.

When asked about the plot for the sequel Vaughn replied “I didn’t know if I wanted to direct this or not. I was worried about the villain. Spy films are only as good as their villains. Then one morning I woke up with the whole storyline in place, and a new villain plot.”

Kingsman: The Golden Circle opens in U.S. theaters on June 16th, 2017.
